David Tu, the founder of Duratek, holds a Ph.D. in materials engineering. In his early years, he created numerous sporadic products and successfully developed the susceptor parts for the P5000 machine at Applied Materials. A special wet treatment process was developed, and customer certification was obtained. Based on the experience gained from refurbishing smoke hazard equipment at the 8-inch wafer company Winbond and mastering the core technology of “plasma engineering”. In 2020, Duratek successfully developed the key components for etching process equipment, including the thermal spraying E-Chuck.
